ASC is made up of all sorts of folks who share a common passion of talking about science. We have scientists who have great pride in sharing their work, journalists who love building public interest in scientific progress, entertainers who spark scientific enthusiasm in their audiences, policy makers pushing for greater investment in research, and much more! Basically, if you enjoy chatting, presenting, advising, informing, or even singing about science, you’re in the right place.
What started as just an annual conference has now become a interwoven and interactive community of ASC members sharing their skills and perspectives across a wide range of formats. We have virtual professional development courses taught by science communicators at the top of their game, a lively Slack forum for helpful Q&As and endless nerdy memes, and a growing network of local ASC groups for facilitating in-person community connections. The annual Science Talk conference is still going strong as well, bringing together ASC members every spring from all over for two days of professional growth, networking, and more fun than a barrel of tardigrades!
